Doodle to Draw

The "Doodle to Draw" series by Naida Ginnane is designed to help aspiring artists, creative teens, and busy professionals develop their drawing skills through a fun, no-stress approach to drawing. By focusing on the relaxing and intuitive nature of doodling, the series aims to build drawing confidence while gradually introducing more advanced artistic techniques.

Improve drawing skills with easy-to-follow steps.

Relax and unwind: try therapeutic doodling!

Why?

The Doodle to Draw books are created by an experienced Art teacher who understands the problems most people struggle with when learning to draw or be creative. Naida's goal is to help kids, teens, and adults discover their artistic creativity and confidence.

Whether you’re looking to simply relax at the end of a long day, or looking to refine your skills, this book series teaches you how to harness the power of doodling to master key artistic principles without pressure or frustration.

How does it work?

The book series is structured in a step-by-step manner, transforming basic doodling into an educational process that covers essential elements and principles of design, form and perspective, and realistic rendering. By the end of the series, participants will have developed core drawing skills and be able to create more complex and polished works of art, all through the playful, no-stress medium of doodling.

Don't worry, we got you. Here are some answers for your questions.

If you just want to dip your toes in, there's no better way than with "Doodle Bliss". It's very easy to follow, has clear step-by-step instructions on every page, and you see satisfying results fast.

All three books are designed for portability: small enough to be carried with you wherever you go. If you're a beginner, go for 'Doodle Bliss' or 'Drawing Skills'. The exercises in these books are based on abstract designs, so there's no 'right or 'wrong' to get stressed about. If you know your way around your sketchbook, try 'Draw in 3D' to enrich and refresh yourself during your break times.

Book 1: Drawing Skills is the best match for you. It focuses on applying the Elements and Principles of Design to make beautiful compositions using simple drawing techniques. If you're more confident, try 'Draw in 3D' for a bit more challenge and inspiration.

If you're looking for a reality check, 'Book 2: Draw in 3D' is the one for you. No abstract patterns, just everyday objects using 3D drawing systems and an understanding of how light and shadow work. You will be amazed at how quickly your drawings will transform into 3D realism.

Great book!

I've just started the book and I'm loving it. You draw in the book first filling in the empty space in a picture following the prompt. Then on the next page you use the prompt to draw your own picture. The pictures get more difficult as you go through the book. I'm finding it so much fun.
